Day 2 - Course & Anchorage

The second days sail started with a side trip to SOPERS HOLE at the WEST END of TORTOLA ... to pay our customs fees to the British ... gee didn't we have a war over that sort of issue ?!?!? Nonetheless ... after they were payed, we sailed between LITTLE THATCH and FRENCHMAN'S CAY and into the western end of the SIR FRANCIS DRAKE CHANNEL. Tacking to FORT RECOVERY, then back to ST. JOHN. We pulled into a small ? un-named ? bay for lunch, a swim and snorkeled a bit before heading for the western end of NORMAN ISLAND. Great snorkeling in the caves there !!! The crowd of ships was a bit too much in THE BIGHT on NORMAN so we sailed over to PETER ISLAND and anchored for the night. Had the beach to ourselves that evening !!

Panoramic view of the Sir Francis Drake Channel from the North East of St. John.

Our home on the waves for 4 nights ... "Avanti".

View of the southern tip of Peter Island from our anchorage on the south-west side of the island.
